Recipe of the Month – Bolognese sauce

Ingredients

1kg minced meat
1 large onion
2-3 garlic cloves
Salt pepper
1 bunch basil
250 gm of tomato paste
3-4 large tins of crushed tomatoes
Pinch salt

Get it together
Peel and chop onion and garlic
Place oil in large pot and sweat of garlic and onion
Place mince into pot and brown meat
Add tomato paste and mix thoroughly into mince
Add a good pinch of salt and pepper
Add crushed tomatoes and stir
Allow to simmer for about an hour
Add fresh basil into sauce with about 10-15 mins left of cooking
Either use immediately or freeze into containers
